Little Clay Explorers:
Hand Building

Ages 6-12

Designed for young artists, this engaging hand-building class introduces children to the fundamentals of working with clay in a fun, hands-on environment. Through guided instruction and creative exploration, kids will learn how to shape, sculpt, and decorate their own pottery pieces.

Techniques: Introduction to pinch and coil methods, allowing children to form their own unique creations.

Decoration: Hands-on instruction in applying decorative glazes to personalize and finish their pieces.
By the end of this class series, children will have created and decorated their own pottery, developing both their creativity and fine motor skills while gaining confidence in working with clay.

Our weeklong clay camps offer young artists the chance to explore hand-building and wheel-throwing in a fun, supportive studio setting. With age-specific sessions for kids (6-12) and teens (13-17), campers will learn pottery techniques, experiment with surface design and glazing, and create unique ceramic pieces to treasure. Whether shaping by hand or spinning on the wheel, every camper will pinch, create, and connect!
